Injured construction worker?

On Behalf of | Nov 5, 2021 | Construction Accidents

Everyone knows that those employed in the construction industry are in a dangerous line of work. Sadly, numerous construction workers are injured in job-related accidents in the state of Washington every year. While workers’ compensation benefits are available to them, getting full and fair relief for their losses this way may prove a challenging feat.

The problem with workers’ compensation alone

Workers’ compensation through the state is there to help people who have been injured on the job cover their losses. The problem is that workers’ compensation insurance does what it can to pay out as little as possible. Meaning beneficiaries of this program may end up paying for some if not most of their losses out of pocket, which isn’t okay.

What else can u do?

Few people realize that on top of filing for workers’ compensation benefits, they may also pursue legal claims against their employer or others believed responsible for their losses. Every case is different, but there are certainly some who may benefit from pursuing civil claims. If you aren’t sure if it is the right course of action for you, it is okay to ask questions and find out.
